CLASSICAL RECORDINGS: |
|
|
|
|
|
 |
|
- REFLECTIONS
(2009): REFLECTIONS is a little collection of gentle, peaceful guitar music for contemplative, relaxed listening, perhaps while reading, daydreaming, or even when falling asleep. Enjoy...

- IMAGES OF BARRIOS
(2008): AgustÍn Barrios Mangoré, Paraguayan Master
Guitarist/Composer, was one of the greatest geniuses who ever played
and composed for the guitar. His brief and lyrical pieces have
unparalleled charm and grace and are truly a delight to play. In his day
he was known as "The Chopin of the guitar". It is my honor to give him
tribute.

|
- SKELETAL
(2007): I have chosen these selections for their simple beauty. An
x-ray of my recent hand injury reminded me of the contrast between the
apparently simple structure of the skeleton and amazing movements that
it supports. The songs on this CD also have an apparently simple
structure and yet have a deep and satisfying sound. I hope you will
enjoy the simple beauty of these pieces as much as I do.

|
|
|
|
- SOLO (2005) A
selection of pieces most often requested at recitals, together with
some of the guitarist's personal favorites.

- LA FLORESTA (2004)
This release spotlights the music of Rodriguez,
Brahms,
Ponce, Sor, Harrison, Shand, Albeniz, MacDowell, Carcassi, Tarrega, and
Sagreras.
Mr. Andrews' performance, with its characteristic clarity
and
sensitivity, underscores the lyricism and picturesque qualities that
distinguish
these haunting compositions. The listener may well be reminded of
Hector
Berlioz' observation that "the guitar is a miniature orchestra."

|
|
|
- FRESCO (2000):
Inspiration for this collection of works came during a visit and
performance in Vienna, where the guitarist played in the old-world
setting of the Belvedere Palace.
|
|
|
|
|
|
- VIGNETTES
(1999): Miniature but delightful works by composers
from Argentina, France, Germany, Italy, Mexico & Spain.
|
|
|
|
|
|
- SKETCHBOOK
(1998): A collection of classical transcriptions, these pieces are
drawn from 17th through
20th century composers, and were chosen to provide a taste of the
delicate
nature and melodic beauty of the guitar... Relax and enjoy!

- WE HAVE TO SAY GOODBYE
(SOUNDTRACK FROM THE FILM, THE CHOCOLATE FETISH)
(2003): This new soundtrack CD from the art film THE CHOCOLATE FETISH
introduces a new composition, "We Have to Say Goodbye," written by
George and Nancy especially for the film. In addition to the
soundtrack, the music also contains other lovely ballads and classical
guitar selections.

- ONCE I LOVED
(2006): This is our interpretation of the many moods of romantic love.
They're all here, from exhilaration to heartbreak. These renditions are
improvisations, recorded without rehearsal or arrangements. John
Hoekstra on keyboards and George Andrews on bass provide a lush
background for Nancy Wilson's rich vocals. This is what we call "smooth
jazz." We hope you'll agree.

- NIGHT MUSIC
(2004):
When you're in the mood for a mellow evening carried along by soft
and soulful jazz selections well-played by a cohesive jazz group,
try this one. Greg Milton and John Hoekstra, inventive and
expressive keyboardists, and George Andrews, versatile and
innovative on the bass and guitar, back up Nancy Wilson's smooth
and sultry vocals to create a warm and intimate sound. You'll
want to relax to this one again and again.

|
- QUIET NIGHTS
(2003): This is the first release in a new Jazz Duo Series from Raven
Recordings. The focus here is on understated jazz treatment of timeless
tunes using the barest essential instruments (bass and/or guitar) to
accompany and set the mood for Nancy's splendid vocals. Nancy &
George; that's it! The sessions were done in the true jazz idiom: no
formal arrangements; just do what feels right. We hope it feels right
to you.

NATURE IMPROVISATIONS: |
|
|
|
|
|
- LIFE PULSE
(2004): This innovative CD is described by one listener as "hypnotic,
absorbing and sensual." George Andrews and Nancy Wilson combine
the pulsing of the human heartbeat with the plaintive tones of cellos,
flutes, didgeridoos, gongs, bells, original melodies and the sounds of
nature to produce a listening experience that we believe you'll find
both haunting and restorative.
